Dr. Forella has been with the team at Bolton Veterinary Hospital since the spring of 2017. From a young age, Dr. Forella always knew she wanted to work with animals, but hoped to do so in a way that would help others; becoming a veterinarian was the perfect blend of both passions. After earning her degree in Animal Sciences and Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut, Dr. Forella went on to complete her veterinary studies at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY. While at veterinary school, she earned a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine, and was awarded the Cornell Leadership Recognition Award.  Dr. Forella considers herself lucky to have found a home at Bolton, where she gets to practice high quality medicine alongside a dedicated and compassionate team. Dr. Forella enjoys all aspects of canine and feline health, and her special interests include internal medicine, emergency care, dentistry, feline urinary health, and pain management. Dr. Forella enjoys the creativity and hands-on nature involved in surgery and spends as much time in the surgical suite as possible. She has pursued special training in end-of-life care and decision making, and prides herself on making this difficult transition for pet owners as peaceful as possible. As a Connecticut native who grew up in Burlington, CT, Dr. Forella is dedicated to giving back to her local community. She volunteers her time to the Connecticut Veterinary Medicine Association, and helps out with UConn Pre-Vet events and classes whenever possible. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, biking, and spending time with friends. Dr. Forella shares her home with her cat, Henry, and a lovable young Boxer named Jazz.
