Dr. Perry began working with animals at the young age of 14. Starting out working at farms, shelters and veterinary hospitals in Nova Scotia, Canada where she grew up, Dr. Perry went on to earn her Bachelor of Science from the University of Prince Edward Island. She graduated with her DVM from The Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1999. When asked why she wanted to become a vet, Dr. Perry responded that she can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to work with animals. She stated that the field of veterinary medicine is “challenging, entertaining, at times heart wrenching and never boring”. Dr. Perry began her work at Bolton Vet as an emergency relief doctor in 2001 and loved the experience so much that she moved into a full time position in 2003. Dr. Perry’s passion lies within the operating room where she specializes in soft tissue surgery, orthopedics and emergency surgery. She also loves the challenge and variety associated with emergency medicine. Dr. Perry believes the closeness of the staff at Bolton Vet is essential, as it allows all members to practice high quality medicine. In her down time, she enjoys traveling and a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, boating, running, swimming and camping, to name a few. Dr. Perry shares her home with 2 cats; Georgie & Ken, as well as her Irish Wolfhounds Winnie Jane & Lucy.
